For Those 70½ and Older: You Can Make a Leadership Gift to Support Einstein with a Current Gift From Your IRA

You can request a transfer directly from a traditional IRA to Einstein. All you need to do is let your IRA administrator know to complete a transfer at whatever amount is right for you.

Be sure to arrange for the transfer in time for the close of the tax year. We suggest reaching out to your IRA administrator by December 15th.

Tax and Other Benefits

  • You can donate up to $105,000 annually from your traditional IRA. The distribution is excluded from your adjusted gross income, so not only does it benefit Einstein, but you also pay less in income tax.
  • The transfer counts towards your required minimum distribution for the year in which you made the gift, and you pay no tax on the withdrawal.
  • Your gift supports Einstein's commitment to health equity, scientific discovery, and the education of compassionate and diverse leaders in health and science.
